Interactive White Boards (IWB)

Interactive white boards are quickly replacing the usual traditional black boards. These blackboard we have been using since day one are one of the best and easiest ways to teach but often lack to accommodate all learning styles that learners in your class may have. By emphasizing certain information visually using different colors and shapes will partly address this problem. Information and learner notes made during class can be stored and shared with learners at a later stage.

IWB- teaching will inquire the use of a whiteboard, projector and computer. With the right software this will allow any surface to transform in a screen or display. The use of this technology will make teaching easier and allows for better flow from concepts and different programs to carry over the knowledge and information that you as a teacher wishes to.  When utilized in an efficient way it can be used to facilitate learning activities and new teaching methods. Student achievement may increase as it will enhance pedagogical practices.

Potential use of this technology in business studies can include the use of learner-response-devices. Here students can vote on controversial topics individually. Anonymity will allow students to be more interactive and the answers can be displayed in a quick manner so that all learners can see it. Learners can also engage in educational games based on topics. Examples may include to drag and match definitions. This will allow learners to become more comfortable with terminology used in the business world.
